While the government assures that there will be no fuel shortages, the Union of independent petroleum importers (IPU) - which represents major retailers - has assured Monday morning, many stations were out of stock of petrol and diesel. "Presumably, the 4,000 stations on the mass distribution, which distributes 60% of fuel in France, 20% to 25% (stations) are affected," said Alexandre de Benoist, Chief Executive of the IPU. In all, a thousand stations would be concerned.

Carbeo.com site has posted over the weekend a map of petrol stations dry. It has identified 560 service stations by mid-morning in which gasoline and diesel are in partial or total rupture.

automoto.fr And the site has opened a forum where motorists may indicate department by department, where to find fuel.

Paris in lack of fuel
Ile-de-France is the region most affected by lack of fuel, according to the card Carbeo.com. Northern France, and the Greater West are also heavily involved. Carbeo.com offers motorists to send an email to update the map in real time.

But lack of fuel also wins the rural areas. The situation is "extremely alarming" in some 3,500 service stations independent distributors, which are mostly located in rural areas, their federation said Monday.

The regions most affected:
The most affected regions are Normandy, Champagne, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, Rhone-Alpes, Midi Pyrénées, Auvergne and Limousin. Speaking of "drought", the union asked the government to implement "an immediate system of equitable distribution (...) to ensure that all distribution channels, including self-employed, a minimal resource on available products."

"There are areas that are in a better position than others," assured Alexandre de Benoist. The north is better lodged such as the West. "Brittany is in a very worrying situation, "he said." All deposits of Britain currently faced a difficulty. Or they are blocked from the outside, or they are on strike (...) it causes a real supply disruption at the stations, "he said noting in particular the closure of the obvious ones and Donges.

"It should not worsen"
"Every hour, the situation evolves," said Alexandre de Benoist on Europe 1. "But one might think today that the situation does not worsen because full has been made this weekend by motorists. In addition, some deposits continue to function and we'll be able replenish a number of stations. So one might think the situation will remain stable overall, "he tried to reassure her. However, he said, it depends on the consequences of the national day of action on Tuesday.

" No Shortage "
However, The government is reassuring. Several ministers assured on Sunday that there would be no shortage of gasoline, like François Fillon. "I will not let the French economy choked by a blockage of supply fuel, "said the Prime Minister on TF1.

tankers do not want alarmist either. Jean-Louis Schilansky, president of the French Union of Petroleum Industries (Ufip), said Sunday that "we are moving towards a more normal situation" in terms of supply of gas stations with fuel.
