An altercation between psychiatric patients in a residence operated by the Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine ended with a murder in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Montreal.

crime occurred at about 2:10 in the residence Recovery, an annex of the psychiatric hospital housing a dozen patients on Rue Notre-Dame in the corner of 6th Avenue in the Pointe-aux-Trembles in the east of the metropolis.

The suspect in this case, a man of 27 years, would have called the police himself.

"We received a call from a man who said he had just killed his roommate," says the officer Yannick Paradis of the Montreal police. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the body of the victim, a 45 year old man who had probably been hit with a knife.

The suspect was arrested. It is not known motive for the altercation at the moment. The major crime investigators from the Montreal police the individual must meet Wednesday morning. For purposes of the investigation, the residence was evacuated and patients were relocated.
