For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 4

Press, Israel, listen to the statutes and judgments which I teach you. Put them into practice so that you may live, and you go in and possess the land which the Lord gives you, the God of your fathers.

You not add nothing that I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, but you keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Vos eyes have seen what the Lord has done in connection with Baal Peor: the LORD your God destroyed from among you those who went after Baal Peor.

ET you who you are attached to the Lord your God, you are all alive today.

Voici, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, as the LORD my God commanded me, so you put them into practice in the country you go to possess.

Vous observe them and do them in practice, because this is your wisdom and your understanding in the eyes of the people who hear all these statutes, and say: This great nation is a wise and understanding people!

Quelle is, indeed, the great nation that has gods so close that the Lord our God is to us whenever we call upon him?

ET what great nation has laws and ordinances so righteous as all this law which I present to you today?

Seulement, beware and keep thy soul, all the days of thy life, lest thou forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart: teach them to your children and your children's children.

Souviens up the day you stand before the Lord your God at Horeb, when the Lord said unto me, Gather unto me people! I want them to hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the time they live on earth and that they may teach their children.

Vous came near you and you held at the foot of the mountain. The mountain was ablaze, and flames reached to the middle of the sky. There was darkness, clouds, darkness.

and the Lord You spoke of the fire, you heard the sound of words, but you figure speeds point, you n'entendîtes a voice.

It published his covenant, which he commanded you to observe the ten commandments, and he wrote them on two stone tablets.

En that time, the Lord commanded me to teach you statutes and ordinances, so that you put them into practice in the country you go to possess.

Puisque you have not seen any figures on the day the LORD spoke to you from the fire at Horeb, see carefully on your souls,

of afraid of corrupting you do and you do you make a graven image , representation of some idol, the figure of a man or a woman,

The figure of an animal that is on earth, the figure of a bird flying in the skies,

The figure of anything that creeps on the ground, the figure of a fish that lives in the waters beneath the earth.

Veille on your soul, lest you lift your eyes toward heaven, and seeing the sun, moon and stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship you in their presence and make their worship: these are things which the LORD thy God hath divided to all nations under the whole heaven.

Mais you the Lord took you and brought you out of the iron furnace of Egypt, that ye might be a people unto himself owned, as you are today.

and the LORD was angry against me because of you, and he swore that I would pass over the Jordan, and I will not enter the good land which the LORD thy God giveth thee inheritance.

Je therefore die in this country, I shall not pass over the Jordan, but you will pass, and possess that good land.

Veillez on you, so as not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God with you, and not to make you a graven image, any likeness, which the LORD thy God tossed thee defended.

Car the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Where you have children, and children of your children, and you'll be long in the country, if you are corrupt, if you make graven images, representations of anything, if you do the evil in the eyes of the Lord your God, to irritate, -

j'en rise today to witness against you the heaven and earth, you will disappear by rapid death of the country you will take possession beyond the Jordan, you do not prolong your days, because you will be completely destroyed.

L'Éternel will scatter you among the peoples, and you only keep a small number among the nations where the Lord takes you.

Et there you shall serve gods, the work of human hands, wood and stone, which can neither see nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

C'est thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, and thou shalt find, if thou seek him with all your heart and with all thy soul.

Au in your distress, all these things come upon you. So in the course of time, you will return to the LORD thy God, and listen to his voice;

car the LORD thy God is a God of mercy, which does not leave you and destroy you point: forget the covenant of thy fathers, that they swore.

Interroge ancient times before thee, since the day God created man on earth, and one end of heaven to the other, was there never so great event, and is there never heard anything similar?

Fut there ever a people hear the voice of God speaking out of fire, as thou hast heard, and who remained alive?

Fut there ever a god who might try to come and take him to a nation's environment of a nation, by trials, signs, miracles and battles with a mighty hand and outstretched arm and with great terrors, as you did for the Lord your God, Egypt and under your eyes?

Tu have been made witness to these things, so you reconnusses that the Lord is God, there is none else.

Du heaven he made you hear his voice to instruct you, and on earth, he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words out of the fire.

Il loved thy fathers, and he chose their seed after them, he himself brought you out of Egypt with great power;

IT has driven before you nations greater in number and strength, to let you enter their country, to give thee the possession, as you see today.

Sache therefore this day, and consider it in your heart that the Lord is God up in heaven and on earth beneath, and there is none else.

Et observe its laws and commandments which I command you today to make you happy, you and your children after you, and you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee .

Alors Moses chose three cities across the Jordan to the east,

afin they will provide shelter to the murderer who had killed his neighbor unintentionally, without having previously been his enemy, and that he might save his life by escaping into one of these cities.

C'étaient: Bezer in the desert, in the plain, in Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead, in Gad, and Golan in Bashan, in Manasseh.

C'est law as presented by Moses to the children of Israel.

Voici precepts, laws and ordinances which Moses ordered the Israelites after their exodus from Egypt.

C'était the other side of the Jordan Valley, vis-à-vis Beth Peor, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon and was defeated by Moses and the Israelites after their exodus from Egypt.

Ils seized his country and of Og king of Bashan. Both were kings of the Amorites on the other side Jordan eastward.

Leur territory from Aroer on the banks of the river Arnon unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

et he embraced all the plain on the other side of the Jordan, at the east to the sea of the plain at the foot of Pisgah.
